I am a dedicated professional with a combined 13 years of experience in environmental compliance, research, and sustainability. I obtained my Doctor of Philosophy at the City University of Hong Kong and my Master of Science in Environmental Economics and Public Policy at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Prior to undertaking my PhD, I worked as a regulatory specialist. In this role, I advised clients across a wide range of industries and geographical areas to ensure their businesses was conducted in compliance with complex federal, state, and local environmental regulatory schemes. I developed strategies for my clients to improve their environmental programs and identified methods by which they could make their operations more sustainable, including process redesign, water and energy conservation, and developing environmental management systems.
In my doctoral research, I investigated the modernization of urban water supply systems. While Hong Kong served as the main case study, I also drew in comparative evidence from other regions. My doctoral studies built upon my previous Master of Science degree work in Environmental Economics, Values, and Policy (EEVP) to address economic, sustainability and climate change issues associated with water supply management decisions.
I have a strong background in research, having conducted extensive research projects and authored several works including peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, articles for leading publications, on a range of topics covering a variety of areas, including economics, policy, and technology. Most recently I have authored a public-facing report which analyzed and recommended potential changes for Hong Kong’s water management framework. This was followed up with a co-authored paper that gauged the institutional capacity of Hong Kong’s water management system and how it has evolved over time to identify gaps in the capacity of the various actors and suggest improvements in its governance.
